Investigating the factors affecting the resilience of police officers: with an emphasis on presenting a conceptual model

Abstract :
Hossein Nouri pardol Abbas Sangi nour pour Nader Bohlooli Gholam Reza Rahimi hossein Emari Abstract As the protector of social security, the police are always exposed to threatening situations and traumatic events that put their mental and physical health at risk. Improving their resilience can help to reduce these risks, therefore, the present research was conducted with the aim of investigating the factors affecting the resilience of police officers. The present research is a qualitative type of phenomenology. The statistical population of the research includes the police forces of East Azerbaijan and its statistical sample includes 14 police personnel from different units. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data and continued until saturation was reached. The saturation point of the interviews was 12 people and no new data was provided. After recording the interviews, the text was prepared. The obtained data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Then, five main themes and twenty-three sub-themes were extracted. According to the findings of the research, individual characteristics, organizational support, family support, spirituality at work and the social base of the police were the main themes. The contribution of this research is the development of an integrated police framework that provides suggestions to its managers regarding the improvement of the resilience of its forces and future researchers.
